The scientist in this position develops new computational, simulation, or modeling approaches to answer questions about crop production and cropping systems, focusing on industrial hemp. Collaborative opportunities exist with a broad range of agricultural scientists to work at the scale of individual plants, fields, farms, or regional cropping systems. The position is an opportunity to guide the incorporation of hemp into U.S. agriculture by generating tools and new knowledge that drive informed decision making, leading to improved growth, handling, and storage of harvested hemp biomass along with positive benefits to rotational crops, the environment, and profitability.
